DevLog #4: First Public Test 🌲
12 levels are ready, Ukrainian localization is in, and we're moving forward!
We made the decision a while ago to shift the focus of the game from a pure puzzle-platformer to something with a more relaxed gameplay style.
So now it's time to test the current levels and gather feedback — especially on the runner-style level, which breaks the usual rhythm of the game. It was planned as a change of pace, but we're still unsure how well it fits.
Next up — the Hub. That's the calm type of gameplay I mentioned at the start. Honestly, we can't wait to begin — we've never done anything like this before, and it sounds really exciting.
To put it simply, gameplay-wise it's a farm-like experience: grow 🌿, upgrade 🔧, unlock new plants 🌼. The overall theme remains the forest, with a sapling oak tree at its center that you can strengthen by bringing it fireflies ✨.
The key feature? The Hub will be deeply tied to the story. Progressing the hub means revealing more lore — through characters, dialogue, and atmospheric details. If you're into storybook vibes and layered worldbuilding, this should speak to you 📜
And of course, the Hub will serve practical purposes too:
- navigation 🧭
- notifications (and yes — we have a cool idea for these: spoiler: they'll be styled as a Forest Newspaper) 📰
- resource collection 💎
- daily rewards 🎁
They say every post needs a call to action — and I've got just the thing:
Please test the build! We're not making this game just for ourselves — we're making it for you ❤️
No ads, no in-app purchases, no nonsense. Have you seen anything like that lately? Then hurry up and give it a try! 🌌
And then — your feedback is absolutely essential. How else can we know what worked and what didn't?
